Décastar Talence 2024 – DECATHLON – Stats and Projections
New look of the competition pages
I present to you a new look for the competition pages of DecaAmerica.
With this new version, the information is better distributed on the page, since we have separated the Decathlon from the Heptathlon.
Existing pages have been moved to this new format.
Thus, they will be able to see how the pages of the Decastar of Talence and the South American Games (ODESUR) have turned out.
I hope you enjoy them

Les presento una nueva imagen para las páginas de competencias de DecaAmerica.
Con esta nueva versión la información está mejor distribuida en la página, pues hemos separado el Decatlón del Heptatlón.
Las páginas existentes han sido trasladadas a este nuevo formato.
Así, podrán ver cómo han quedado las página del Decastar de Talence y la de los Juegos Sudamericanos (ODESUR).

Guy Drut, de Campeón Olímpico a un gran Decatlón en Talence 1976

En Talence 1976, la primera edición del Décastar (que por cierto, aún no se llamaba así) la gran estrella fue el francés Guy Drut, quien venía de titularse campeón olímpico de 110m con vallas en Montreal 1976, solo un mes y días antes de su primer y único Decatlón.
Quiero compartir con todos ustedes estas increíbles imágenes, publicadas en la prensa francesa unos días después del meeting.
Además de ser un gran tributo a la legendaria figura que fue Drut, estas imágenes nos brindan una clara idea de la gran atmósfera reinante en la competencia, el primer meeting de combinadas de Talence, que fuera el embrión de lo que hoy es el Décastar.
Para que tengan idea del altísimo nivel de la competencia, el ganador fue el soviético Aleksandr Grebenyuk con 8468 puntos, una marca superior al récord europeo vigente entonces y el cuarto clasificado fue, nada más y nada menos que Daley Thompson, quien a sus 18 años superó el récord mundial juvenil (U20) con 7905.

In Talence 1976, the first edition of Décastar (which by the way, was not called that yet), the great star of the meeting was the French Guy Drut, the 110m hurdles Olympic Champion in Montreal 1976, only one month and a few days previous to his first (and unique) incursion in the Decathlon.
Here we want to share with all of you these incredible images, published in the French press days after the meeting.
In addition to being a great tribute to the fierce competitor that Drut was, it is a fantastic memory of the atmosphere of that first combined events meeting, in Talence, which was the embryo of what is today the great Décastar.
To give you an idea of the level of that first edition, the winner was the Soviet Aleksandr Grebenyuk with a mark of 8468 points, higher than the European record and, in fourth place, finished none other than Daley Thomson, who at 18 years surpassed the junior world junior record (U20) with 7905.

It is with great pleasure that I announce that DecaAmérica has just published its page dedicated to one of the most important combined event competitions in the world, the Décastar, which is held every year in the French town of Talence.
Here you can find a gallery with the champions of all the editions, the records of the meeting and a section dedicated to the next edition, that will be disputed between September 17 and 18 of 2022.
After a two-year break due to COVID-19 and, in 2021, due to major renovations at the Pierre Paul Bernard Stadium, Décastar returns with renewed strength and an incredible lineup.
All the statistics that we publish regularly can be downloaded directly from the 2022 Edition section: Ideal Deca and Hepta, PB of all competitors, national records of all participating countries and projections.
DecaAmérica plans to create a page, similar to this one, for the most important competitions, meetings, games or championships that are celebrated in the world.
You will also be able to access this new tool through the menu, in the MAJORS option.

Con gran placer les anuncio que DecaAmérica acaba de publicar su página dedicada a una de las más importantes competencias de pruebas combinadas del mundo, el Décastar que se celebra todos los años en la localidad francesa de Talence.
Aquí podrán encontrar una galería con los campeones de todas las ediciones, los récords del meeting y una sección dedicada a la próxima edición, que se disputará el fin de semana del 16 y 17 de septiembre de 2022.
Luego de una pausa de dos años por razones del COVID-19 y por modificaciones capitales en el Estadio Pierre Paul Bernard, Décastar regresa con fuerzas renovadas y con un lineup increíble.
Todas las estadísticas que publicamos regularmente podrán descargarse directamente desde la sección Edición 2022: Deca y Hepta Ideales, PB de todos los competidores, récords nacionales de todos los países participantes y las proyecciones.
DecaAmérica planea crear una página similar a esta, para las más importantes competencias, juegos o campeonatos que se celebran en el mundo.
También podrán acceder esta nueva herramienta a través del menú, en la opción MAJORS.
