DecaAmerica.net has been updated after the 51st edition of Hypomeeting Götzis.
The focus of our attention has been the two decathlon records set by the Swiss decathlete Simon Ehammer in the Austrian city.
A standout moment was his long jump of 8.51m, which improved upon the 8.45m mark he had set in 2022 at the same venue; this also broke his own Swiss national record in the event and establishes him as the new world leader for the 2026 season.
Furthermore, Simon tallied 4,762 points on the first day, surpassing the 4,747-point record held since 1991 by the American Dan O’Brien.
Everyone is invited to visit the website and share their thoughts and comments.
I would like to thank my colleague Yoshiaki Oikawa, who has updated his excellent work to include the best performances—by event, by day, and by event category—in both the Decathlon and the Heptathlon.
